About Alpacas


Alpacas are categorized as New World Camelids, and they have been domesticated for over 5000 years. Alpacas make great pets for a stress-free lifestyle. They are intelligent,clean,quiet and because they have soft padded feet ,they are gentle on the land. There are two types of alpacas- Huacayas and Suris. Their lifespan is about 20 years and gestation is 11 months. They are about 36" tall at the withers and weigh about 150 pounds.They are gentle and curious, easily handled and can be halter trained.
