Kilblaan Farm Calypso
Calypso is a beige female with a brown spot on the back of her neck. She is one of our top fiber producers, and an excellent mom.
Her first cria, Spring Pond Farm Sundance took a color championship at her first show, and has ribboned in every show she was entered in 2005 and 2006.
Calypso was bred to 6Peruvian Accoyo Powerball and produced  a white male, Patriot. Patriot ribboned in every show he was entered in 2006 and is now co-owned with Springbrook Farm.
Calypso was then bred to Accoyo Plantel, and in August 2006 she gave birth to a beautiful white female Angel. Angel was sold at a few months of age and ribboned in every show she was entered.
Calypso was bred to our white herdsire Legacy's Legend and in September of 2007 gave birth to a beige male Quasar. Quasar has great conformation, bite and loads of soft bundling fleece. Quasar will be at the fall shows.

Alpacas
Aren't Alpacas just small llamas? No! Alpacas are members of the camelid family, making them cousins to llamas, vicunas, guanacos, and camels.

Commander cria's are arriving

Cost of Alpacas
Basic breeding females usually run somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000.

History of Alpaca Fiber
Only Incan royalty were once able to wear such luxurious fiber. Alpacas produce approximately five to ten pounds of fleece per year.

What do I do with all the fleece
Fleece can be sold as raw, roving, yarn, or finished product. Sometimes local hand spinners want to buy raw fleece or roving to make their own products.
